Montreal duo Essaie Pas are part of a scattered network of contemporary groups reviving the sound and aesthetic of minimal synth music. Their fourth album, Demain Est Une Autre Nuit, captures the modern sound at its best, offering a severe, austere poise that tunnels through layers of electronic music history. The album was born out of long winter nights rehearsing at one of Montreal's deserted industrial complexes, which the husband-and-wife duo of Marie Davidson and Pierre Guerineau occupied after returning from tour to find their studio and practice space had been destroyed.
